Dr. John Comcowich Ph.D.
Dr. Comcowich has been a licensed clinical psychologist since 1988., He has his own private practice in Rockville Centre and has been with Dr. Vohra since 2004. He has taught at both Hofstra University and at SUNY Old Westbury. In addition, he had been a school psychologist in UFSD Thirty in Valley Stream, NY for more than twenty-five years. Intermittently, throughout the years Dr. Comcowich has been recognized for his participation and contributions to the community during the following crises: 1. The TWA Flight 800 tragedy (1996) 2. The crash of Egypt Air Flight 990 (1999) 3. The destruction of the twin towers at the World Trade Center (2001) and 4. Hurricane Katrina (2005). He considers himself to be a cognitive behavioral psychologist who works with adults and children who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and/or addictive behaviors. Dr. Comcowich firmly believes that his ability to create opportunities for change in the lives of the individuals he sees is what he finds most rewarding ; it is also why he enjoys being an integral member of the Bariatric and Metabolic Institute.
